Want To Increase Website Traffic To Your Primary Site? Try This...
Two years ago I realized I needed to increase website traffic or go home. Here is where I began to pull back the curtain of the "Great Oz"! After turning completely away from network marketing offline, I began to to take a serious look at one opportunity after (Logically!)concluding that it's niche was going to expand hugely, and in the next five years! This company was great. They gave every affiliate their own website with a slick video. They had every thing figured out. They even provided an auto-responder that followed up with anyone who viewed your video. Oh, and I shouldn't leave out their great site builder and domain registration and hosting. Problem was I still... didn't know, what I didn't know... about online marketing. I didn't know about SEO. I believed everything the company told me about making money online. And you know what? I got some traffic! I even made some sales. Something still was not right though. That traffic and those sales were a result of some hard work. And the return on investment (ROI) was not worth it to me. It was the result of hitting the virtual "pavement" of the internet. Basically, me going out on the net and shouting out like a stadium peanut vendor. "Hey guys, look at my website!" Increase website traffic By "Funneling" Traffic From High Traffic Content Sites Related To Your Niche It was when I attempted to increase website traffic to a replicated affiliate site that I learned the difference between a site that is built by me and a site given to me by my network marketing company or an affiliate sales site. There are big differences between the two and before you begin marketing you must understand what a replicated site is and why generating website traffic to them is a whole different ball game. Basically, there's nothing you can do to get a replicated site ranked in the search engines due to their very nature. Top search engines ignore them and any other sites that do not contain original theme-based content. Another type of website that generally does not get search engine love are online stores or ecommerce websites. Even if your online store is unique one of the biggest barriers to getting search engine traffic is the lack of content on these sites. Fortunately, both of these types of existing sites can be revived and get the traffic you need to generate an online income. To increase website traffic to an already existing site is not a matter of just making some content changes or updates. It would be a lesson in futility. Also, it may be financially unfeasible. If you hired a web designer and/or graphic artist, it's probably not a good idea to use that same firm if you're not satisfied with your traffic. If you are an affiliate or network marketer, you may have what is known as a "replicated site." These are all basically identical except for the personal information and the affiliate's id contained in the url(the web address). You may have built your own site with one of the many hosting and site building services available. These range in cost from completely free to the exorbitant. Usually, the only way to increase website traffic to these sites is for the site owner to promote it overtly (Hey guys, check out my site!!!), or for the site owner to purchase advertising. Not feasible for most. The search engines ignore replicated sites. Why? Search engines provide relevant search results for their clients who expect good information when they do a search. If their client types in XYZ Company, and XYZ company has ten thousand replicated sites for their representatives then how do they deal with that? How will their client feel about those results: page after page of identical content only differing by representative? You can see why replicated sites get no love from the major search engines. Whatever the reason, it may be unfeasible to just trash that existing site and start all over. The solution: Build high traffic niche content sites that funnel targeted free search engine visitors to your primary website.
